50 Thoughts I Had While Watching The Fifty Shades Darker Trailer

As many of my close friends know, I’ve been a Fifty Shades of Grey fan for years. Yeah, it’s a little cheesy and you can make fun all you want, but I seriously enjoy it.  The second book (and now movie) is probably my favorite in the series. I love that the story now contains more thriller aspects and that the love story is more romance and less BDSM, but of course it’s still there.  Anyways, I digress.

I woke up this morning with an unusual pep in my step when I remembered the trailer came out today and I have a lot of thoughts on it.  Fifty shades  thoughts to be exact. Calm your inner goddess if you can and read them below.

  1. I’ve been waiting for this for so long.
  2. I even prepped by watching Fifty Shades of Grey yesterday.
  3. One minute and 58 seconds. Let’s do this.
  4. OMG Masquerade ball fireworks. Great fade in, Universal. Great fade in.
  5. “Forget the Past”. I agree, I’m still depressed from that cliffhanger from FSOG.
  6. Remember when Ana screamed, “NO!” at Christian? Brb still in recovery.
  7. A present! I love presents.
  8. Ooh, Jamie Dornan is working that mask. Mmm…
  9. “And slip into something…” I’m ready, I’m f**king ready.
  10. OOH, Dakota is wearing Louboutins.
  11. “A shade darker…” It’s happening.
  12. “Intrigued?” Yes, Christian I’m very intrigued.

  13. Oh my god, Ana looks like a floating silver goddess and that deep red lip really brings it together.  #slay.
  14. The beauty and grandeur of this Masquerade Ball is giving me life. It’s just how I imagined it in the books.
  15. Oh sh**, Ana you wanted hearts and flowers…Look at those roses. Please take him back Ana, but on your own terms girl.
  16. God, I LOVE roses. I’m glad my boyfriend knows that. I’m made it very clear.
  17. Lock eyes from across the room. They are at José’s gallery showing. Do you see the picture of Ana in the back? LOL.
  18. “You just going to stand their gawking?” “Yes.”

    giphy
    Universal Pictures via Giphy
  19. His smirk though. Dead.
  20. Oooh sexy time in the shower. This is so hot.
  21. Why is Ana wearing clothes in the shower?

    giphy-1

  22. Hearts. Flowers. Boathouse. Her dress. His suit. I’m dying. Book fans know this is where an amazing scene takes place.
  23. “This time no rules, no punishments, and no more secrets.” YASS GIRL YOU TELL HIM WHO’S BOSS.
  24. An Ode To Jamie Dornan’s Back Muscles By Paige Catton.
  25. Oh cute, they’re sailing.
  26. Dakota Johnson got extensions for this right? Because she cut her hair short IRL. Ex. How To Be Single
  27. I’m digging the red lip that Dakota keeps wearing. I need to find what brand it is. If anyone knows, hmu.
  28. BTW, I’m loving this Miguel version of “Crazy In Love.”
  29. “You got me…” OMG IT’S LEILA HOLY SH**.
  30. “You got me…” And cue Ana’s creepy as F boss, Jack Hyde.

    200
    Universal Pictures via Giphy
  31. “You got me…” Omg Mrs. Robinson! It’s Elena! It’s Christian’s first Dominant! She’s real.
  32. Wow, that’s a lot of Audi’s.
  33. Taylor! I love Taylor.
  34. Oooh Ana, he did a background check…girl
  35. CHARLIE TANGO CRASHING OMG CHARLIE TANGO THEY ARE SHOWING THIS.
  36. I can’t believe they put this in the trailer.
  37. So many emotions.
  38. I didn’t even need coffee this morning, my heart is already pounding like crazy.
  39. Who is that creepy dude in the mask? I think that’s Jack but I can’t remember?
  40. I really need to reread the series. For the 280410842 time.

    giphy-2
    Universal Pictures via Giphy
  41. “Do you think you’re the first woman that’s tried to save him?” Sh**. Ana we’re screwed.
  42. Don’t turn around Ana, she might have a gun.
  43. Well book readers know the crazy chick has a gun.
  44. Wait is it over? NOOOO.
  45. Fade to black.
  46. FIFTY. SHADES. DARKER.
  47. Omg, I’m shaking. I’m literally shaking.
  48. Way too many emotions before 10:00 am.
  49. “Crazy In Love Performed By Miguel.” Yeah, downloading this ASAP.
  50. Is it Valentine’s Day yet?

PCatt’s Comic-Con Roundup

San Diego Comic-Con is one of my favorite times of the year.  In my opinion, SDCC is a pop-culture holiday. Don’t let the convention name fool you. Although the event began with the concentration on comics (which it still technically is), Comic-Con is now known as a haven for exclusive content premieres, so I decided to round up some of the highlights.

13701061_10153839412203590_6530795628503691381_o

  1. DC Comics

    • Suicide Squad
DC Comics had the entire Suicide Squad cast in Hall H including Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Adam Beach (Slipnot), Karen Fukuhara (Katana), & writer and director, David Ayer. They also brought a special soundtrack remix trailer to get the fans excited for the release of the film next week. If you couldn’t tell by my shirt I wore to SDCC, I’m pretty stoked for this film.Suicide-Squad-Comic-Con-Cast
    • Justice League
This footage was a big surprise to fans, as the film is just now in production.  The “trailer” put together great clips, including some footage of Ezra Miller as The Flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman.
    • Wonder Woman
One of the great winners of Comic-Con was without a doubt the first ever clip of Gal Gadot kicking major ass as Wonder Woman.  If you are only going to watch one thing on this post, this is it.  The film also stars the forever dreamy, Chris Pine.
  2. Marvel

    • Spider-Man Homecoming
      • They showed a clip from the anticipated film featuring another new Spider-Man, Tom Holland. Unfortunately, the clip hasn’t been officially released by Marvel and I don’t want to post the bootleg footage. 278dd5865d8318c8f82930fde36a0b73d3d28a3798c16c6c43bbdb11035ec099-1
    • Doctor Strange
Marvel released a second trailer for Doctor Strange. The film, which is headlined by the talented Benedict Cumberbatch, also stars Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton. Other highlights from Marvel Studios included a Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 trailer, the cast of Black Panther, and the official announcement of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.
  3. Game of Thrones

Although their isn’t much footage yet, as the greatest television show of all time hasn’t started much filming on Season 7 yet, the producers brought awesome clips of Season 6 bloopers as well as some teasing for Season 7.   Check the clips out below.

POKÉMON!

As expected Pokémon Go was a giant presence at Comic-Con, so much so that the Ninatic panel had to be moved to Hall H. That’s right the same hall as the giant production and movie companies above.

FYI, I’m still upset I still haven’t caught a Pikachu.

Until next year, Comic-Con!

12 Best Carrie Bradshaw Quotes Of All Time

As I struggle strive to find a entry-level job in journalism, I unfortunately sometimes find myself questioning my dream career (whether editorial and/or broadcast) as it is difficult to find that foot in the door. However, I’m not going to give up, I’m determined, as entertainment and pop-culture have been my passion since I was a little girl.   Hey, I am only 23 and have my entire future ahead of me.

giphy-1

To brighten my day and give myself (and every woman) some Monday motivation, I decided to gather some quotes from the ultimate female journalist character of all-time, Carrie Bradshaw. Bradshaw with her column, “Sex and the City” brought humor and intellect to life, love, sex, friendship, and adulting.  So here in its glory are 12 Best Carrie Bradshaw Quotes Of All Time:

carrie-bradshaw-1920

  1. “They say nothing lasts forever; dreams change, trends come and go. But friendships never go out of style!”
  2.  “The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And, if you find someone to love the you that you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”54a75ff00e364_-_elle-01-carrie-bradshaw-idiot-mdn-1
  3. “I will never be the woman with the perfect hair who can wear white and not spill on it.”
  4. “I got to thinking about fate. That crazy concept that we’re not really responsible for the course our lives take. That it’s all predestined, written in the stars. Maybe that explains why, if you live in a city where you can’t see the stars, your love life tends to feel a little more random.”
  5. “Maybe some women aren’t meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with.”635842903902734084-1182453843_sarah-jessica-parker-as-carrie-bradshaw-in
  6. “Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.”
  7. “As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.”
  8. “Beauty is fleeting, but a rent-controlled apartment overlooking the park is forever.”
  9. “I like my money where I can see it – hanging in my closet.”landscape-1431384821-mcdsean-ec108-h-1
  10. “Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course we wouldn’t fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it’s comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart.”
  11. “Life gives you lots of chances to screw up which means you have just as many chances to get it right.”
  12. “When I first moved to New York and I was totally broke, sometimes I bought Vogue instead of dinner. I found it fed me more.”

So now that I feel more motivated and Carrie-fied, the rest of my day will include a few more job apps, maybe another blog post, binge-watching How To Get Away With Murder, and a trip to Sephora.

And yeah, I guess I should go to the gym.

Maybe.

Carrie would get fries instead.

Let’s Talk Game of Thrones & Prepare For Next Week’s Finale

maxresdefaultHello, everyone! My website and blog are revamped clad with a new look and my portfolio. I thought it was only fitting that my first post be about none other than the number one pop culture phenomenon that has been consuming me: Game of Thrones.

CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD.

I’m currently laying on my couch on my day off from work, basking in the air conditioning rewatching that insane, bloody, satisfying, crazy, episode again.

The episode was so jam packed, I need to just vent for a second. Did anyone else think that Kit Harington looked even hotter, if that is even possible, when covered with blood, sweat, and dirt? Is that weird? Did anyone else feel bad for the horses? Does this mean we have to like Littlefinger now because he basically saved Jon’s booty? I literally screamed at the television (and my dad) when the Vale came all chanting and slo-mo. Did anyone else feel like they couldn’t breathe when Jon was suffocating under the bodies and was trying to get out? Ahh YASSS so many badass female moments from Sansa, Yara, and of course the Beyoncé of Westeros and IMO the rightful heir to the throne, Daenerys. Also, I thought there wasn’t a character I hated more than Joffrey Baratheon, that changed with Ramsey Bolton.  After sending the hounds on a baby, raping Sansa, cutting off Theon’s manhood, murdering his father, killing poor Rickon (RIP) and shooting an arrow at the poor giant (RIP), I was truly overjoyed to see Bolton get his ass kicked by Jon and getting mauled to death by the hounds.

MV5BMTY1ODUyMzUxMV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNDg2NjIyOTE@._V1_SX1777_CR0,0,1777,998_AL_
Did you know this scene cost $10 million dollars to film? Some of the battle scenes were inspired from the American Civil War.

Amidst my random mumbo jumbo, it goes without saying that last night’s episode, “The Battle of the Bastards” was one of the best episodes in Thrones history.

But, I think the finale is going to be even better.  I agree with the many fans, writers, and GoT enthusiasts out there, the finale will (fingers crossed) finally bring light to some theories that have been circulating and building throughout the books and seasons. The episode is called “The Winds of Winter” a knack to the sixth and upcoming book in the series. Here are a few things many people could possibly happen:

Cersei Will Become The “Mad Queen”

At this point, Cersei is in a really bad situation.  She’s about to have her trial and be judged by the High Sparrow and the Septons.  If you recall, trial by combat is now abolished (thanks to her son, King Tommen) so she can’t use The Mountain.  So Cersei doesn’t really have any moves left, besides the wildfire hiding under King’s Landing.  The same wildfire that the “Mad King” Aeyrs Targaryen was going to use on the entire city (“BURN THEM ALL!”), before Jamie came and killed him, gaining his nickname as Kingslayer. In this last episode, Tyrion explains the wildfire to Daneyrus, suggesting it as another hint to Cersei using the fire to burn down the kingdom.

Freys and Lannisters Might Have An Alliance No More

From the preview, it seems that Jamie is not super amused by Walder Frey’s toast. Now that he took Riverrun for them, the Frey’s now have ownership over the former turf of the Tully’s.  However, Jamie is out for vengeance.  Some speculate that Arya is actually using Jamie’s face, because as we all now Arya is coming back to Westeros to get her revenge.

Ser Davos Will Confront Melisandre

Davos will confront Melisandre about burning Princess Sheeren to the ground.  What will Jon say? Will they banish Melisandre? Can you banish someone like her? Will her hidden old-lady be exposed?

R+L=J Theory

This is probably my favorite theory in all of the Game of Thrones world. In a nutshell, the R+L=J theory is the truth behind Jon Snow’s heritage.  He is known as Ned Stark’s bastard’s son and for all Snow knows that’s the truth.  The theory however, suggests differently. The theory is that Jon Snow’s parents are Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Rhaegar is Daeneyrs’ brother who died before the show began. Similarily, Lyanna is Ned Stark’s sister, who also is deceased before the series started.  Remember from the first episode when Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark go down to the crypts of Winterfell to look at Lyanna’s statue? That’s because Robert was deeply in love with Lyanna and he believed that Rhaegar took her captive and raped her. So he murdered him. However, the theory states what actually happened is that Rhaegar and Lyanna were in love and had Jon.  Lyanna was said to have died during childbirth.  Now here is where the theory gets even more exciting.  If the theory is true that would make Jon Snow part Targaryen and part Stark, and Dany would be Jon’s aunt.  The series and this season specifically has brought multiple signs that this will happen.  In one of Bran’s visions, you see Ned outside the Tower of Joy, where Lyanna is presumed to be inside.  Another vision, showed a woman bleeding.  This is rumored to be Lyanna after her childbirth. It all makes sense, Jon and Daeneyrs are the depictions of A Song of Ice and Fire.  This photo (below) which surfaced after Sunday’s episode, prove the comparisons of their storylines.  It only is logical that they are related. And I love it because they are my favorite characters. house-of-starks-5-easter-eggs-and-deja-vu-moments-in-this-week-s-game-of-thrones-1026919

I guess we will have to wait until Sunday to find out.

Guess Who’s Back, Back Again

PCatt’s Back, Tell a Friend.

giphy

That’s right everyone! College and school are out forever and that means until I have my big girl job in my field, yo girl has mucho time to blog about her love for pop-culture. I was never great at keeping up with my blog during school, as much as I hate to admit it.  It was hard to let myself write, when in the back of my head I knew I should have been doing homework.  However, none of this matters now, school is over forever and my blog is alive and well. And I seriously mean it this time. I’m going to post and keep up with it. I swear on my Netflix account. You know that means I really mean it. I now have a beautiful new layout and look, complete with a fresh blog (I deleted my old posts).

So without further adieu…
