BOO! Halloween is upon us folks! 6 days to be exact. I’ve been eating (and drinking) a lot of pumpkin, yet I have not yet decided on a Halloween costume. This is not a good thing to procrastinate on. Months ago, I was planning on being Harley Quinn, but now it’s the number one Googled Halloween costume. Every Halloween I want to be creative, but I’m always a little scarred from my sophomore year of high school when I dressed up as Alice Cullen and decided to spray my hair black with the cheap Party City hair spray and the color dripped onto my skin and gave me a terrible allergic reaction. I ended up spending most of my day scrubbing in the bathroom simultaneously as my vampire face makeup melted off my face.
My Twihard days behind me, I still have never been so behind on what I’m going to dress up as, yet I have many ideas. If you are in my boat and have some similar issues or maybe you feel like you want to dress after your favorite TV show or Snapchat filter, I composed a list of 13 Pop-Culture Inspired Halloween Costumes. Check it out!
1. The Chanels from FOX’s Scream Queens
Hey you idiot hookers! Grab some earmuffs, a pink dress, and your girls and viola! It’s an easy DIY.
2. Annalise Keating from How To Get Away With Murder
Court is now in session. Be your favorite TV bad bitch. All you need is a chic, simple bodycon dress, heels, red lipstick and lashes, and a IDFWU scowl.
3. Supergirl from Supergirl
It’s a bird, it’s plane, it’s SUPERGIRL! I love Supergirl, she’s probably my favorite superhero ATM. This costume pretty much can be found at your local Halloween costume shop and everywhere online (Amazon always comes in clutch).
4. Big Bang Theory characters
If you need an easy, group DIY, I suggest the Big Bang Theory cast. Snag a nerdy tee and some glasses and you’re halfway there!
5. Anything Pokemon
Gotta catch ’em all! The Pokemon Go craze might have died down, but Pokemon costumes are definitely some of the best sellers this year. Stores and websites have a wide variety, but with some Pinterest searching you can easily create a last minute DIY Pikachu.
6. Rachel Greene from Friends
Anyone that knows me well knows that I watch at least 3 Friends episodes a day, so I couldn’t make a list without putting some Central Perk spice on it. Rachel Greene is probably the easiest and the weirdest thing is, her outfits are actually in style today. Head to Forever 21 and you’re set.
7. The Dog Filter
The internet has many makeup tutorials to create a real life dog filter. This is a perfect last minute idea!
8. A Pumpkin Spice Latte
Why not dress up as your favorite fall drink? Yeah it’s a little basic, but it’s super cute.
9. Netflix & Chill
Netflix & Chill is extremely easy to DIY. All you need is some iron letters and some tees.
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters outfit is an easy, pop-culture option. The costume is easy to find online and is also has some sexy options, if that’s your thing.
An older idea, Minions are a simple and easy costume. Many stores have them and it’s super easy to DIY as well.
12. Daenerys Targaryen or anything from Game of Thrones
Another popular costume is Daenerys Targaryen. I personally have been dying to be Dany for years, so maybe I’ll be able to finally convince my boyfriend to be Khal Drogo. Most Game of Thrones character costumes can be found online but also can be DIY.
Cookie Monster, Pandas, Unicorns, Pikachu, Eeyore…pretty much anything can be found as a onesie these days. It’s definitely a good last-minute option.
So now the question remains, what should I be?
